Classic Travelling invites you to spend a leisurely day exploring the quiet beauty and enduring charm of the Yorkshire Dales. Known for its broad green valleys, ancient stone walls, and sweeping moorland views, the Dales offer some of the most rewarding and peaceful drives in the country. We will gather from 10am at Yorkshire’s latest automotive hub, Kip & Nook. Over fresh coffee and pastries, there will be time to admire the cars, get to know one another and enjoy the calm surroundings before we set off. At around 10:45, we will set out on a two-hour drive through the heart of the Dales. The roads here rise and fall with the land, following centuries-old routes across open moors and along valley bottoms. We will head East on a wonderful driving route to our light-lunch spot.
The afternoon brings another two and a half hour’s drive, this time along quieter lanes that wind beside rivers, pass hidden waterfalls, and meander through villages built of the soft grey stone that gives the Dales their distinctive look. The scenery here has changed little over the centuries, and there is something special about travelling through it in a classic car. Our day concludes with a delightful late afternoon meal at the all-new Grantley Drivers Club, an exclusive country house near Ripon.
