Day 1:  Arrival - Lake Garda Welcome

Saturday 5th September

Arrive at Milan Malpensa Airport if your vehicle is being professionally transported or make your way independently to the shores of Lake Garda if you are driving to the start point. This evening, we gather on the south-westerly shoreline of Lake Garda, where the tour officially begins. Settle in, meet fellow guests, and enjoy a spectacular welcome dinner overlooking Lake Garda.

Day 2:  Lake Garda - The Dolomites

Sunday 6th September

The Dolomites Our first driving day carries us north into the heart of the Dolomites, as lakeside glamour gives way to soaring limestone peaks and exhilarating alpine roads. By afternoon we arrive at our elegant mountain resort hotel, our refined base for the next three nights. Unwind with spa time or a pre-dinner aperitivo before enjoying our authentic Dolomiti dinner at the hotel restaurant this evening.

Day 3:  The Great Dolomite Passes

Monday 7th September

 

A signature day of extraordinary driving. Today’s loop takes in the Dolomites’ most celebrated mountain roads—Sella, Gardena, Pordoi and Giau—a breathtaking sequence of engineered switchbacks, open panoramas and dramatic rock faces. This evening, we elevate the experience with dinner at a fabulous mountain restaurant at 2,000m, where exceptional cuisine is paired with incredible views across the peaks.

Day 4:  Western Dolomites & A Long Lunch

Tuesday 8th September

Today we explore the western side of the Dolomites, discovering quieter roads and grand, expansive valleys that reveal a different character of these mountains. A spectacular lunch stop anchors the day—beautiful setting, impeccable service, and time to savour. This evening is at leisure, allowing guests the freedom to choose their own dining experience and enjoy the resort at their own pace.

Day 5:  Into the North: Dobbiaco

Wednesday 9th September

This morning, we head north toward the beautiful alpine town of Dobbiaco, where we check into our next overnight destination for a two-night stay. The journey continues to deliver exceptional scenery and elegant touring, with time on arrival to settle into the hotel and enjoy the atmosphere of this refined corner of the Dolomites.

Day 6:  Rest Day or Tre Cime Experience

Thursday 10th September

 

Today offers a choice—either a well-earned rest day to enjoy the hotel’s superb facilities and the gentle luxury of unstructured time, or an optional drive for those who wish to continue the adventure. The highlight: a stunning mountain route to one of the Dolomites’ most iconic sights, the spectacular Tre Cime peaks—a true “signature moment” of the region, and an unforgettable setting for photography and quiet awe.

Day 7:  Austria via Grossglockner

132 Miles

Friday 11th September 

We depart Italy and set our sights on the Austrian Alps, with the stylish mountain town of Kitzbühel as our destination. En route we drive the legendary Grossglockner High Alpine Road, one of Europe’s most celebrated routes—high altitude drama, commanding viewpoints, and exhilarating ascents that make every stop feel like a postcard. Arriving in Kitzbühel, enjoy an evening surrounded by refined Tyrolean charm and world-class hospitality.

Day 8:  Tour Departure

Saturday 12th September 

The beautiful mountain peaks bring the tour to a smooth and elegant close. Guests may choose to have their vehicle collected from the hotel in Kitzbühel, with a private transfer arranged to Munich, Innsbruck, or their preferred Airport, or begin their onward journey home by car—departing with the satisfaction of having completed an exceptional alpine grand tour of the Dolomites.

Requirements

  • All passports must be valid for six months after the end of the tour. You will also need your vehicle registration documents, driving licence (a photo-card licence or international permit is best), and an international insurance green card.
  • Please check with your travel and motor insurers that you are covered for travel in the required countries.
  • You are also required to carry a warning triangle, first-aid kit, two fluorescent jackets, set of replacement bulbs and a national identification sticker in your vehicle.
  • Each person must have a passport (and any necessary visas for non-EU passport holders) valid for Italy.
