Visit the rose gardens and park of the Chateau of Mesnil Geoffroy, which has over 2,500 rose bushes (1,100 different varieties) surrounding the elegant 18th-century chateau.
Continue on to Chateau de Miromesnil and its garden and chateau. In 1850 Guy de Maupassant, the famed French writer, was born here and the Chateau contains much of his memorabilia.
Drive along the coast visit Le Vasterival at St Marguerite sur Mer in the morning. This is known as one of the best gardens in the country. Protected by the lie of the land, the garden benefits from a micro-climate which has allowed one of the finest plant collections in France to be put together.

Thursday 10th September
Jardin de Valerianes
Thursday 10th September
It is a scenic drive to Jardin de Valerianes before a light lunch (not included) at a nearby cafe to Jardins Agapanthe, our next visit.
Monsieur Alexandre Thomas trained as a landscape designer and has created this unusual garden in just over an acre. Topiary is everywhere. It is easy to get lost in this paradise. White, violet, blue and green are his preferred colours. He adores agapanthus – hence the garden’s name.
Return to the hotel for dinner.

Friday 11th September
There is an optional visit to the fabulous gardens at Etretat.
Meander your way through the Normandy countryside, to the pretty harbour town of Honfleur – a great place for a wander and lunch.
This is now the Calvados liqueur region. Calvados liqueur is made from apples and is produced by many farms in the area and it is possible to visit a number of places to see production and taste and buy the finished product.

Moments From the Journey
Everything You Need to Know
Do I have to drive as part of a group?
Not at all. Our tours are designed to give you the freedom to enjoy the roads at your own pace. You’ll be provided with detailed routes and navigation information, allowing you to drive independently or alongside other guests if you prefer. We’ll regroup at our overnight hotels throughout the tour.
What happens if my car breaks down?
For additional peace of mind, a dedicated mechanic will accompany the tour throughout the journey, providing expert support should any mechanical issues arise. While it isn’t possible to guarantee that every problem can be repaired at the roadside, our mechanic will be equipped to diagnose and resolve most common issues and help keep you moving. Should a more serious problem occur, the tour team will assist with arranging specialist repairs or recovery where required. We also recommend that guests have appropriate European breakdown cover in place.
What is the standard of roads and hotels?
This tour combines some of Europe’s most spectacular driving roads with carefully selected luxury hotels. Routes are researched and chosen for their scenery and driving enjoyment, although mountain roads naturally include hairpins, steep gradients and changing surfaces. Our hotels have been selected for their high standards of comfort, service, dining and facilities, providing the perfect place to relax after each day behind the wheel.
Will my car be suitable for the tour?
The tour is designed for classic, sports and modern classic cars that are well maintained and capable of sustained mountain driving. The route includes high-altitude passes, steep gradients and technical sections, so your car should be thoroughly prepared and serviced before departure. If you’re unsure about the suitability of your particular car, we’re always happy to discuss this with you before booking.
What information will I receive before the tour?
Before departure, you’ll receive comprehensive joining instructions and detailed information covering the itinerary, hotels, timings, driving routes and everything you need to prepare for the journey. Route and navigation information will also be provided, and guests will have access to the tour team throughout the experience.
Are the cars secure at the overnight hotels?
Vehicle security is an important consideration when selecting our hotels. We prioritise properties with suitable on-site, private or secure parking arrangements wherever possible. Full parking details for each hotel will be confirmed in the pre-tour information provided to guests.
Can you arrange car transport?
Yes. Professional vehicle transport can be arranged for guests who would prefer to fly to the start of the tour and have their car waiting for them. The cost of transport will depend on the number of cars travelling together, as shared transportation can significantly affect the price per vehicle. Once we know how many guests require this service, we will obtain a group quotation and confirm the cost before any arrangements are made.
