Everything You Need to Know

Do I need previous rally experience?

Not at all. The Ennstal-Classic welcomes both experienced competitors and those entering a historic rally for the first time. The event is renowned for its friendly atmosphere, and Classic Travelling will be on hand to guide you through the entire process before and during the event.

What is the difference between the Rally, Touring and Alpine Experience?

The Ennstal-Classic Rally is the competitive event, where crews take part in regularity tests, timed stages and hill climbs.

Touring is aimed at participants who wish to enjoy the full Ennstal-Classic experience but prefer a driving concept less defined by calculations and stopwatches. Route, organisation, and supporting program are identical to the main event.

The Alpine Experience is a hosted driving tour designed for those who wish to enjoy the Ennstal-Classic atmosphere without entering the competitive event. You’ll follow a carefully planned route through the Austrian Alps with less mileage than the main even, intercepting the rally at key locations each day while enjoying the official start and finish locations.

Which cars are eligible?

Eligibility depends on the experience you choose:

Ennstal-Classic Rally: Road-legal historic vehicles manufactured on or before 31 December 1976. All entries are subject to approval by the event organisers.

Ennstal-Classic Touring Entry: Classic and sports cars manufactured before 1995. All applications are subject to organiser approval.

Alpine Experience: There are no vehicle restrictions. Owners of classic, modern classic and sports cars are all welcome to join us.

If you’re unsure whether your vehicle is suitable, we’d be delighted to discuss it with you before submitting an application.

Is my entry guaranteed?

No. Both the Rally and Touring entries are subject to an application process, with every vehicle individually reviewed by the organisers to ensure it meets the spirit and quality of the event. As the Official UK Travel & Tour Partner, Classic Travelling will guide you through the application process and provide advice on your vehicle’s suitability before submission.

Do I need a driver and co-driver?

Yes, both the Rally and Touring categories require a driver and co-driver. The co-driver is responsible for following the road book and assisting with navigation throughout the event. If you’re travelling as part of the Alpine Experience, you are welcome to drive solo or with a passenger.

Can I join if I don’t want to compete?

Absolutely. Our Alpine Experience has been created specifically for owners who would prefer to enjoy the spectacular roads, stunning scenery and incredible atmosphere without taking part in the competitive event. It’s the ideal way to experience everything that makes the Ennstal-Classic so special.

Can I join the UK to Austria driving tour without entering the rally?

Yes. Our fully hosted tour from the UK to Austria can be enjoyed on its own or combined with any of the three Ennstal-Classic experiences. It’s the perfect way to start your adventure, travelling through France, Germany and the Alps before arriving at the event.

What support does Classic Travelling provide?

As the Official and Exclusive UK Travel & Tour Partner, we take care of every aspect of your experience. From assisting with your event application and planning your journey, to organising accommodation, hosting the tour and providing support throughout the event, we’re with you every step of the way to ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience.
