Visit Yorkshire with its ancient towns and cities, moorland and dales. This three day tour takes in the best of this stunning region of England. Based in the North York Moors for two nights, the tour will take you to Richmond and Swaledale and return via Wensleydale, famous for its cheese. The following day will explore the North York Moors and the coast.
Accommodation
Stay in a wonderful small hotel in Helmsley, renowned for its delicious food and delightful decor. The hotel is a modern take on a country house hotel without any of the stuffiness. The rooms are individuall decorated and well appointed.
Helmsley is a charming town, with some lovely shops and genteel atmosphere.
Itinerary
August 17th
Make your way to Helmsley. There will be a welcome dinner for all participants at 8pm
August 18th
Drive to pretty Swaledale via the market towns of Bedale and Richmond. Cross the Buttertubs Pass to take you into Hawes and Wensleydale. The whole dale is famed for its association with James Herriot, the famous vet, but there are many other attractions, such as Aysgarth Falls and Castle Bolton. Continue on to Masham, home of the Black Sheep Brewery, for a tripple or two, before hading back to the hotel for dinner.
August 19th
Drive north to Great Ayton, birthplace of Captain Cook, and then across to Whitby and the coast. Cross back over the moors to Pickering. This ancient town is the starting point for the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, which runs to Grosmont. Depart for home after afternoon tea.

The Yorkshire Moors & Dales Tour is open to classic, vintage and sports cars of any age. However, the most important requirement is that you take pleasure in motoring through fabulius scenery, deserving of the vehicles we love, relish character hotels and enjoy the comany of like-minded travellers.
