A self-drive tour of Europe taking in some fabulous cities, beautiful scenery and plenty of culture.
Visit France, Luxembourg, Germany, Czech Republic, Austria and Italy in a whirlwind tour of some of Europe’s best cities, French wines, German castles, Austrian splendour, the Alps, Italian Lakes and the Cote D’Azur.
This tour starts and finishes in Paris but any aspect can be altered to suit individual preferences.
Accommodation
Stay in some of the most glorious hotels, including stunning chateaux, cosy wooden chalets and medieval townhouses. All the hotels are individual and unique and, overall, are of an extremely high standard. Due to the nature and age of these hotels the rooms vary from charmingly comfortable to the utmost luxury. We have hand-picked the accommodation for their unique atmosphere and style. All accommodation includes breakfast, and dinner is included where stated. Suitable parking is, of course, a feature of each hotel, but it is rarely undercover.
Itinerary
Week One
Visit Paris and then drive towards Luxembourg via the Champagne producing region of France. Visit Luxembourg City and then head into Germany. Drive along the Rhine, pausing at Frankfurt. Travel east to Bamberg and then into the Czech Republic and Prague for a few days.
Week Two
Drive south through the Czech Republic to Austria and Vienna, where you will spend two nights. Head west to Bad Ischl and Salzburg and then into the Austrian Alps. Cross the border into Italy and drive through the mountains and down to Lake Garda where you will spend two nights. Head to the west coast and Cinque Terre past Verona and Parma.
Week Three
Drive up the coast visiting the beautiful ports of Portofino and Camogli and then to Genoa. Enter France and spend a couple of days on the Cote d’Azur visiting Monaco, Nice and Cannes. Travel north into Provence and to Avignon for two days. The head back towards Paris, visiting undiscovered France.
