This tour of Scotland encompasses some of the very best and most spectacular scenery of Scotland, with lochs, mountains and historic towns. Visit the Isle of Skye, Inverness and Loch Ness, Balmoral Castle, the Cairngorms, St. Andrews and Edinburgh.

Select Accommodation: Select tours use high-quality, small, individual hotels and guesthouses. The focus is on service and comfort in beautiful surroundings.
Itinerary
Day One
The first day’s drive heads north to Loch Lomond and up to Fort William for a night’s stay in a luxurious castle for the Select Tour or a comfortable grange for the Classic Tour.
Day Two
Drive north to Invergarry, over the Mam Ratagain Pass and winding down to the port of Glenelg, to take the ferry to the Isle of Skye. Two nights will be spent on Skye giving you the chance to explore. The Classic Tour will stay in a beautiful country house and the Select Tour will be based at a Lodge renowned for its culinary delights.
Day Three
Visit Dunvegan Castle, the Cuillin Mountains and Portree on the Isle of Skye.
Day Four
Return to the mainland via the Kyle of Lochalsh and drive to Strathcarron. Head west to Loch Carron and drive over the Bealach na Ba, the old drovers road to Applecross on the coast. Follow the coastal road round to Sheildaig and then onto Kinlochewe. Take the road to Poolewe. Stay in a stunning small hotel.
Day Five
Follow the road around the coast to Dundonnell and continue on to Dingwall. Stay overnight in a fabulous castle for the Classic Tour, or on the shores of Beauly Firth for the Select Tour.
Day Six
After breakfast drive to Inverness and down the A82 alongside Loch Ness and, at Fort Augustus, head north again on the B862 along the opposite shore. Drive to Culloden Muir, where Bonnie Prince Charlie was defeated, and continue south to the Cairngorm Mountains on onto Ballater. The Select Tour overnights in a lovely country house hotel and the Classic Tour stays in a wonderful private castle guesthouse.
Day Seven
From Ballater head to Dundee and over the Firth of Tay to Kilmany and St Andrews, a great place to explore, even if you have no interest in golf. Stay overnight near Cupar. A farmhouse is the base for the Classic Tour and a delightful inn for the Select Tour.
Day Eight
For the last day of the tour drive to Edinburgh. Follow the coast road through Anstruther and Elie. Keep the coast alongside as you head to Kirkaldy and then over the Forth Road Bridge into Edinburgh. Explore the beautiful city and stay over night at a country house just outside the city for the Classic Tour or a 14th century castle for the Select Tour.
